先说我住的地方 …… 相对比较熟悉嘛。

• Barton (138 women), Forbes (468 co-ed split), Garner (463 co-ed split), Hopkins (468 co-ed split), Lundgren (137 men)
• Library, TV rooms, game room, exercise room, lounges, and music practice room.
• Specialty Restaurant: Cracked Egg Café (breakfast for dinner Tuesdays)
• Special Living Options: LEADS (Garner); Transfer Cluster (Hopkins)
Peabody Drive Residence Halls (Scott, Snyder, Taft-Van Doren, Weston)
• West side of campus in Champaign, next to the Gregory Drive Halls, near the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC)
• Scott (470 co-ed split), Snyder (468 co-ed split), Weston (468 co-ed split), Taft (203 co-ed layered), Van Doren (205 co-ed layered)
• Large library, computer center, music practice room, game room, and TV rooms. There are recreational playing fields on three sides of the Champaign residence halls.

这是 housing 官网所写的 Gregory Dr. 和 Peabody Dr. 的 6 个宿舍，总体位置算是校区西南方，离 ARC 比较近，锻炼身体算方便的 —— 当然，你如果像我这样喜欢走路去 Siebel Center 上课，那也在无形中锻炼腿了 ……
Gregory Dr. 这边有 Forbes Hall, Garner Hall, 和 Hopkins Hall 这里面 Forbes 和 Weston 离车站最近， Garner 和 Weston 都离工地很近， Hopkins 离 e-chomps 最近。 Peabody Dr. 这边有 Scott Hall, Synder Hall, and Weston ，其中 Snyder 和 Scott 与 ARC 隔街相望。
值得注意的是 6 pack （好吧，有人说是 6 块腹肌 …… ）这几个宿舍相对其他宿舍，美国本地人算是多的，周末会比较吵闹，当然，如果你大一住宿的目的就是结识美国人，那 6 pac 这地方你来就对了。另外 Gregory Dr 这边有个新饭堂在施工，白天有一定噪音，而且出入并不方便，路过工地还能闻到水泥灰尘的味道。 Garner 和 Forbes 在新饭堂完工之前还可能接受一下工地灰尘的洗礼 …… 虽然我个人认为离完工不远了 ……
接下来说 Allen
Allen(Unit One)
这个地方么 …… 是个好地方 ~ 额 ~ 也不是那么好吧 ~ 从地理位置上讲，还是不错的，斜对门是 CRCE ，也一个锻炼身体的好去处，找 ATM 也方便，另外相对 6 pack 到 Eng 校区也近一些，背靠 LAR 这个女生宿舍，有自信的请住过去把妹 ……
不过呢，根据一些住 Allen 的人的反馈，这个地方学艺术类的多，可能会出现一些奇装异服者，还有买电钢琴在宿舍弹的人之类的 …… 还有传言这地方 gay 和 les 比较多 …… 本人去的不多，有待大家留言确认 … 还有，我去几次总迷路 …… 地形很复杂的样子。而且， Allen 没有 latenight 。熬夜想要吃东西的，不是很方便。
提到 Allen 不得不说的就是 LAR 了

• Special Living Options: Non-Visitation Community—one wing (not the entire hall) for women
这是个女生宿舍。食堂跟 Allen Hall 的是相通的，出于我不清楚的原因，每次去 LAR 的食堂都冷清的有秋风扫落叶一般的感觉，人貌似都跑到 Allen 食堂去了 ……LAR 从地理位置上讲跟 Allen 一样，不好不坏，跨过 Lincoln Ave 有北上的公交，背后穿过 Allen 有 CRCE 可以锻炼身体，当然还有通往校区的公交。讨厌男女混住的考虑这儿吧 ~
特别之处嘛，不清楚。啊，对了，根据雷母的反馈，去年秋季对面的姐妹会总唱歌 ……
LAR 往南一段儿是 PAR

• 261 residents each, co-ed layered
• Library, computer center, game room, lounges, and TV room. Across from the Illini Grove picnic and recreation areas. All rooms are doubles with new loftable furniture .
• PAR's dining hall is completely renovated, featuring custom-made choices at every meal.
• Special Living Options: Global Crossroads (Saunders), Intersections (Babcock)
这是 …… 有人说过，学校把所有非白皮肤的人都塞到 PAR 了 …… 我觉得有道理 …… 在 PAR 食堂转悠绝对不愁找不到会汉语的 …… 当然，一般情况下，也不愁找不到韩国人、黑人和印度人 …… 总之来这里相比其他宿舍，尤其是 6 pack ，美国气氛算很薄弱的了 …… 跟中国朋友交好还是很适合住这里的。
PAR 地处校区东南，离 ……“ 大多数人 ” 上课的地方都比较远，还是很依赖公交的。不过要健身也不算很远，北面是网球场，沿着 Dorner Dr. 北上不远到大 CRCE
特别值得一提的是 PAR 的 global crossroad…… 可以让你在短假期免费住宿舍 …… 当然吃饭自己解决，不过这个 140$ 交的比其他宿舍短假花的钱少多了 …… 如果你够宅 ~ 考虑一下这个 global crossroad 吧

• Special Living Options: Health Professions—Oglesby (two floors); WIMSE (Women in Math, Science, and Engineering)—Trelease (three floors)
FAR 两栋楼在 UIUC 系统里是最高楼之二了。大一新生提前入学申请临时住宿好像都是安排到 FAR 的，所以好多人都有在 FAR 住的经历 ~ 虽然可能只是几天。要说特点 …… 没什么特点吧 总体情况跟 PAR 类似，不少中国人，交通依赖公交。值得一提的是楼层高看日出方便 …… 如果你有这个喜好的话 …… 嗯，应秦大未刚才溜过来的要求，我添上一句， FAR 和 PAR 有住在某方面很牛 A 和牛 C 之间的那类人的传统，比如西聂震 …… 东大未之类 …… 好吧 ~ 其实本科生过来应该都会认识他们的 …… 我就不赘言了
跳跃一下来到 Green St. 和 Illinois St. 中间的 ISR

• Townsend (639 men), Wardall (561 women)
• All rooms air-conditioned with new loftable furniture . Library, computer center, weight room, lounges, and dining hall. Due to reassignment by continuing residents, space for new students is limited.
• Specialty Restaurant: Cocina Mexicana (Mexican specialties Friday dinner)
这是我所知道的，距离工程校区最近的宿舍了。据说韩国人和印度人很多。这地方最大的特点应该就是交通便利了 …… 斜对面是物理实验室，到 Union 走路大约 5 分钟，到工程图书馆 Grainger 大约 6 分钟，平时需要去的地方应该都不需要公交车，走路就 OK 。
不足之处是中午经常有下课就近找饭堂的人涌入 ISR 饭堂 …… 如果你本来就是住 ISR 的应该会对那么长的吃饭队伍感到不爽。
最后 Busey-Evans 就略过吧 ~

距离 LAR 比较近的女生宿舍，但是官网明确写了 Due to reassignment by continuing residents, space for new students is very limited. 反正我了解也不多就不胡扯了。

我觉得比较著名的是 IT(Illini Tower) 和 Presby 我个人不怎么熟悉，一共才去过不超过 10 次，给我留下的印象是比较接近外面的公寓，或者宾馆。据悉 presby 的厨房是真的可以自己做饭的 …… 在 URH 就太难办了。
学校官网的 housing options 里面的东西大家不妨研究一下 ~ 虽然大多数都是很花哨的东西。
最后说一下，关于吃饭。首先了解一下 meal plan 和 credits 的概念。官网给出如下几种 plan
12 Classic/1,500 Café Credits per week
10 Classic/4,500 Café Credits per week
10 Classic/6,000 Café Credits per week
All Café Credits (11,500) per week
14 Classic meals per week
20 Classic meals per week
6 Classic meals per week (Graduate Hall residents and off-campus students only)
其中 classic meal 是你这一周吃哪一餐都可以用的， credits 从理论上换算是 100credis=1 USD 。如果你 classic meal 没了可以用 credits 去顶，不过这时候吃不同时候的饭就要用不同的点数， breakfast uses 595 credits, lunch uses 795 credits and dinner uses 1095 credits 。
如果你 plan 里的 credits 用完了，可以充值 …… 这个充的点数貌似叫做 extra credits ，而且根据我做 checker 的经验通常不会立刻生效。没了。啊，对， latenight 里面的东西一般比外面贵的多 …… 比如一瓶 rockstar 要 375credits…… 外面大约 2 美元 ……
credits 在一周结束的时候可以累加，最多累加 2 周， meal plan 过那一周就作废
提醒大家一下，现在没必要那么在乎 meal plan ， meal plan 在开学之后前几周有大约 2 次机会可以更改，到时候吃的不爽就退

• Residential Fund Council (RFC) student government dues of $16 per year are included in the above rates.

University Housing also offers three distinct living options for our residents who wish to keep company in a specific environment.
• Non-Visitation Community : Here the community members agree to not have visitors of the opposite gender in their rooms at any time. This living options is available to men living on one floor in Oglesby Hall and women living on one wing in Lincoln Avenue Residence Halls .
• Substance-Free Hall : For residents interested in living in a residence hall free from alcohol (even if 21 years of age), and chemicals or drugs (other than prescribed medications), Snyder Hall in the Peabody Drive Area , our Substance-Free hall, is a good match. While a substance-free area does not change existing University policies that pertain to substances on campus, residents of this hall are committed to healthy habits and do not use tobacco products, alcohol, and other drugs inside the hall or on campus.
• Transfer Student Cluster : A community has been developed specifically for transfer students. The RA staff in this community focus on the interests and needs of transfer students to assist their transition to Illinois.
名词解释：
ARC : Activities and Recreation Center 很豪华的健身娱乐中心，位于 Peabody Dr. 与上文提到的 Peabody Dr. 宿舍隔一条街相望，喜欢泡健身房的不妨考虑住 Peabody Dr.
e-chomp : 6 pac 地区的 latenight 名称。 latenight 简单说就是类似小卖部的地方 …… 用 credits 买东西的。当然，情况随宿舍位置不同而略有不同。 PAR 与之对应的叫做 Penn Station ， ISR 对应的叫 Chomps
Siebel Center ： Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science ， CS“ 总部 ” ，很新的楼，很舒服漂亮。

我来补充一下住 Allen 的优点，个人觉得 Allen 宿舍环境比较好（夏天注意蚊虫）。宿舍活动不少。离 CRCE ， MHC 都是相当地近。尤其是 CRCE ，冬天一个人去锻炼，直接穿短裤一路小跑就到了。晚上没有 late night ，不过附近有家 Jimmy Jones ，吃三明治的，还不错，晚上开到 3 点。 Allen 正对面有个小的车站，校内的巴士会经过，反方向在 Lincoln 街上有个主要的车站，周末或者平时要出去的，坐 red ，也很方便。在 PAR 餐厅没有改造之前， Allen 号称是最好的餐厅（这个，有待考证，呵呵）。 Allen 的艺术类学生有，大多喜欢聚集在 Allen 门前跟一楼 lounge 里面。这个，想交流是十分方便的（像 PAR&FAR ，门前基本上聚集都是一群抽烟的韩逼。）
方闻博： 其实 EUROPA HOUSE 很便宜，应该比学校宿舍还便宜 ~
hendrick house 据说挺破的。。
洪莹： 如果要带男生回宿舍的话， LAR 很不方便。。。只有一楼有男生厕所， mabo 每次都要我陪他去， hall 的规定。。。无比麻烦 ····
