I graduate from U of I and started my job in Chicago in 2013. Now I need to work for another state for 1 more year. So I would like to sell my trusty GTI. It has 95k now. I owned the car for only half year. Because of job reason, I need to sell.....It's been maintained meticulously, accident and rust free by me and previous owner.
The good:
It Runs great with turbo - a sporty car, super fun to drive
Timing belt was done last year with everything that goes with it.
Fuel pump, camshaft and cam follower were replaced under warranty (common issue)
Doesn't burn oil
Newer summer tires on stock wheels
Set of snow Continental tires on 16" aluminum wheels, 1 year old.
OEM roof rack
2 sets of floor mats, summer/winter, OEM
Package 2 -- leather, sunroof, dual auto climate control, heated seats
All service records
Regular annual alignments
Control arms, rear wheel bearings, coil packs etc replaced under warranty
Oil changed every 4-5K with proper VW synthetic
DSG transmission serviced every 25-30K miles
All stock except for Eibach Pro Kit springs - basically European model springs that lower the car just a bit but ride is still the same
Never chipped nor abused
Hawk HPS brake pads all around recently, much better than OEM brake pads
Body and paint in great condition. Interior is excellent as well. The car feels like 2-yr old car, and drives that way as well.
Issues - As any used car, it has a few:
Roof sharkfin antenna cover - plastic piece - was cracked and repaired with JB weld - it should be replaced for proper look. Antenna works fine though.
Air Bag light is on - connection under passenger seat looses contact once in a while - it is for passenger side air bag that's in the seat itself - common issue and VW may have TSB on it.
Small scuff in paint on front left bumper corner, right above headlight washer.
