1) November 13: International potluck after church service
Please bring a dish to share with each other.
2) November 20: All Church Potluck at noon
3) November 24: 1 p.m. traditional American Thanksgiving Day meal at Jie and Mike's house for all Internationals.
Please come to help cook and learn how to bake a turkey, fix other traditional American ThanksGiving dinner. Start at 9 a.m.
A donation of $3 is suggested.
We'd especially like to know by November 20 who will be joining us on Thanksgiving Day.
4) Who Wants to Go to Sunny Florida in January?
Jie and Mike will be taking a short trip to southern Florida from January 3, 2012 to January 9. This is a very warm and beautiful place-a great get-away for a few days in the middle of the coldest time in Illinois. They will be seeing things most internationals never see when they go to Florida: the Everglades National Park, the Atlantic Ocean beaches, and the shopping centers of Miami Beach. The cost of the trip will include airfare (about $320 round trip from Champaign,) share the cost of the car rental and gas(about $100 per person,) motels(about $40 per room), and food. If you would like to join us, there are about 3 spots available. Please Let us know by Monday, Nov 14--we need advance notice to book the air flights.

Grace Church has an inspiring worship service each Sunday morning at 10:30, with special hospitality for internationals. The hour long event includes music, fun Bible dramas, short informative lectures on the nature of Christianity, discussion groups (in Chinese or English,) and lighting of prayer candles.

Time: 10:30 - 11:45 a.m
Location: 2004 Philo Road, Urbana
Transportation provided: 10:15am pick-up at Orchard Downs South Laundry. If you don't live in OD, please email us your address and we will pick you up at around 10:00am at your place.
The van will arrive at OD any time between 10:10-10:20am due to earlier pickups. Please be ready before 10:20 and the van will leave at 10:20 SHARP.

English Language Classes

English Classes Have Begun
On Wednesday evening Grace International hosted its first English Class of the Fall season. In attendance were ten students from 3 countries -- China, Brazil, and Germany -- and 4 teachers.
We anticipate having at least 5 or 6 individual offerings for students across the Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday schedule.
We intend to actively solicit feedback from the participants this week, because we want this experience to be relevant and helpful; and we will add resources as required. Please email me back as soon as possible on what you mostly want to improve.
