2. Mr. and Ms. Asian UIUC Pagent (香槟先生/小姐评选活动闪亮登场，11月1号报名截止)
Co-hosted by CSSA and Kappa Phi Lambde Sorority
We would like to cordially invite you to participate in our first Mr. and Ms. Asian UIUC Pageant. This competition will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 7-9pm at the Union Ballroom (2nd floor) and contestants will be judged on five portions:
1. Summer wear: Shorts, flip flops, swimsuits etc. (contestants will model an outfit of their choice)
2. Formal wear: Suits, dresses etc.
3. Casual wear: Something that represents yourself and your personality
4. Cultural costume: Kimonos, Qipao/Changsan etc.
5. Question/Answer: Each contestant will draw a cultural based question out of the hat and have one minute to answer it to the best of their abilities
There will be an opportunity for extra credit. Each contestant will showcase a talent or cultural performance of their choice in order to earn extra credit.
This pageant aims to attract the most enthusiastic and admirable UIUC students; thus we would be greatly honored to have you participate in this event. We hope to create a competitive but fun event to promote the values and awareness of the Asian American culture which would be shown by these different individuals in our student body. This contest will be a very exciting experience for the contestants and audience. In addition, this will be the first time where all Asian student organizations will come together for an event this big in size and we hope to see many of you attend this event.
The Winners will walk away with bragging rights for themselves and their organizations as well as a big prize of two ipods. There will be many different prizes offered for most popular, best cultural knowledge, best stage performance to name a few.
