If it is an european car, you should find a shop that is specialize in european cars. Or you may go to the dealer to get it checked, they have the scan tool specific for the car that can scan the computer to pull out some fault codes (including the intermediate codes) and check the sensors. The universal scaner can only detect most of them, not all.
