Sublease one room in a house, $265/month including everything, females only, 08/2010~05/2011.
My mom comes, so we have to move to a one-bedroom apartment which has bigger space than here.
Address: 705 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801 (2 blocks from campus)
Strengths:
1. Can’t find a cheaper price in this area which is so close to campus and so safe.
2. Room is fully furnished. Kitchen has refrig., microwave, etc. laundry is on site. The rent includes everything –Internet, electricity, gas, water, trash, parking, you name it.
3. Convenient transportation: House is on Green Street. Green 5 line directly takes you to supermarkets such as Walmart or Meijer.
4. Clean environment: Landlord hires a cleaning lady to keep the public areas clean weekly
5. Friendly roommates: The house is only for girls. Most tenants are international graduate students, who like to offer help to each other, especially newcomers, and celebrate holidays together…The longer you stay, the more you feel you’re in a family.
6. Very responsible and caring landlord
Weaknesses:
1. Ten bedrooms in the house, but only 2 bathrooms. Personally, I have no problem with it at all. But it may be for some.
2. It’s a relatively old house belonging to an old American couple. It may not look as fancy as you may find at those commercial apartments. But compare the price as well.
