Metabolic Engineering Research Laboratory (MERL) in Biopolis, Singapore
The Metabolic Engineering Research Laboratory (MERL) of the Agency for Science, and Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Biopolis, Singapore is seeking applications for multiple positions of Research Scientists at various levels. This new laboratory focuses on designing and engineering recombinant microorganisms capable of cost-effectively producing high value chemicals from renewable feedstocks and is co-directed by Professor Huimin Zhao at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (http://scs.illinois.edu/~zhaogrp/) and Dr. Ee Lui Ang at the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences. The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in chemical engineering, biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related disciplines, and demonstrate outstanding record of research publications in at least one of the following areas: metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, enzyme engineering, genomics, molecular biology, genome-scale modeling, bioinformatics, microbial fermentation, systems biology, and bioprocess development. Post-doctoral and/or industrial experience would be an advantage. Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with experience and publication record.
