An academic hourly position will be available beginning in April 2014 in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). This academic hourly employee will assist in conducting the technical aspects of multiple research studies involving neural differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells and related mechanistic analysis. The academic hourly is expected to work for 40 hours a week, with a salary of up to $15 per hour, depending on experiences and qualifications.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing cell, biochemical and molecular biology technical support for projects in stem cell differentiation that involve: cell culture experiments, cloning, expression studies using western blotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and real-time PCR. To be successful candidates should have previous research experiences. Familiarity with modern cell biology techniques is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in life sciences or related majors is required.
