Parser Software Developer
Wolfram|Alpha is seeking a framework developer to work in its Parser Group. The successful candidate will be the principle developer for the maintenance and development of core parser technology. The candidate will also be responsible for framework bug resolution as well as designing and creating developer tools. The parser team is a group of highly qualified, self-directed individuals who are accustomed to solving hard problems and making very complex technologies accessible for our users.
We prefer candidates who are willing to work at Wolfram Research's corporate headquarters in Champaign, Illinois, but we will also consider highly qualified candidates who wish to work from our Cambridge, Massachusetts office, Concord office, or telecommute from a home office after an initial training period.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Experience with Mathematica or with some other functional programming language (e.g. Scheme, Clojure)
- Working knowledge of Java; some working knowledge of SQL is a plus
- Parsing/linguistics background is a significant asset
- Experience developing and maintaining a complex code base in a fast-paced development environment
