China Executive Leadership Programs (CELP) at UIUC is currently looking for translators for their upcoming training programs. It would be a great opportunity for you to share knowledge and your subject matter, develop your skills, and network with professionals from China. Forwarded below is the message from the program coordinator Rob Marinelli. Please contact him at <remarine@illinois.edu> if you are interested. CELP is also seeking translators for future programs. Forwarded at last is the general job description of translator. Please contact Rob if you are interested in future translation opportunities.

**************************
Good Afternoon,

My name is Rob Marinelli and I am the program coordinator with China Executive Leadership Programs (CELP). I am writing to introduce CELP and to seek your interest in translating for a quickly approaching Higher Education and Human Resources Management Program for administrator from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The 21 day program is scheduled to begin July 30th. Your involvement in the program would ensure accurate and knowledgeable translation of the program lectures.

The program will consist of meetings and presentations with UIUC Administration, and faculty as well as meetings with relevant local and regional agencies and organizations. Both written and consecutive oral translation is required. The written translation includes professor's presentation materials (PPT's) translated in Simplified Chinese. The oral Mandarin translation is done consecutively during professor lectures and visits to agencies or organizations. Lectures are scheduled in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Based on availability and knowledge of program topics, translators can work 3-4 hours up to 20 hours per week. Translators receive $15 per hour.

CELP has coordinated executive education for 18 years for over 4000 senior officials and managers from all regions of China. CELP coordinates two types of programs: The first program, Specialized Programs for Administrators (SPA), allows participants to audit University of Illinois courses for one or two semesters. The second program type is short term, two weeks to two months in length and UIUC faculty provide topic specific lectures with consecutive translation for program participants. For more information about CELP, please visit http://www.ips.uiuc.edu/celp/.

If you are available and interested in translating for upcoming delegations, please send a resume, and your availability during the summer and fall semester. We will contact you to arrange a time to meet. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Rob
